I'm sorry I did not translate the sign, imagine funny slogans against racists, facism, classism, etc...

a bunch of yapping about the context, the making and all

I participated kinda last minute in the 25h de la BD, it's a french challenge hold yearly, during the daylight saving hour change : you make a comic from 1pm one day to the next. There is a 23h challenge in spring where you have to make 24 pages or 80 slides (storyboard style) and the autumn version way more chill, where it's only 12 pages or illustrations (cover and credits included). You have a theme and a constraint.

I wasn't sure I'll participate : the new french revolution is happening right now and I was kinda scared would be self-blaming / hating myself for doing my silly drawings while people are protesting and lets be honest risking their lifes in some mesure against our dumb gouvernment. Further more the theme was "tumult" so obviously I only had an idea about the protest... that's why I waited the evening to see how the protests went.

As it was relatively okayish (people got gased sooo bad, but no death or blown hands hahaha wtf we got used to so much violence this is consired ok ...) I started the comic in the evening. The 25hbd are so chilled I even slept a full night and finished in the morning.

I wanted to stay off the violence as the medias are already doing it and we're already all depressed : right side shows degradation and call it violence, left side show police brutality non stop but also, with elections coming up the politics are kinda either getting blamed or being glorify and people are being ignored when they are the one doing the most/ facing the risks/ etc... so I wanted to focus on the people themself, and be a tiny bit more hopeful.

Also lets be honest, I want to kinda pat myself on the back that it was ok ... even if I don't go protest I do what I can, quite egoistic right ? I'm only human after all

That was a lot of yapping, I hope my comic is not missing the point ... oh well, I tryed.
